Brothers Moving, The Islington
From humble beginnings as New York City street performers, Brothers Moving are a band who have retained raw and honest songwriting, sound and performance. Videos of their live performances (in venues and on the streets) have gone viral, with millions of views and a growing fanbase. With a variety of genres and instruments, the gig at The Islington is one for lovers of all types of music.

Hello 2020: Working Men’s Club, The Old Blue Last
DIY Magazine have teamed up with The Old Blue Last to bring a showcase of the best UK music every Tuesday this January, kicking off the year and decade in the best way possible!
This week you can catch Working Men’s Club at the top of the bill. The Yorkshire band are ones to watch. Since releasing their debut single ‘Bad Blood’ last year, the band have gone from strength to strength, being covered in national press, and playing gigs upon gigs upon festivals. Catch them at The Old Blue Last on Wednesday with supporting sets from Mealtime, Tiña, and Walt Disco.

New Moons January: Toothpaste, The Victoria
Killing Moon Live presents a three date, three venue line-up to get the year going. On Wednesday, Toothpaste are headlining at The Finsbury. The four-piece’s bio reads:
“Plucked from various London indie projects, Toothpaste now aim to provide wistful melodies adorned with pop sensibilities in a shoegaze soundscape…”Toothpaste
And the three singles released so far only add to the mounting anticipation for the band’s upcoming debut EP.

London-based Silvertwin have been playing together for only a year, but already sound like a mature, well-rehearsed band. To celebrate the release of their debut single ‘Ploy’ on January 22, Silvertwin are playing the Strongroom in Shoreditch on January 23, doors 7:30pm.

Between supporting The Teskey Brothers on their European tour, Melbourne singer WILSN will be squeezing in an intimate gig at Folklore on January 24 2020.
The show is free, and one not to be missed if you have a space free in your diary (and it’s January, so we all know you do!). With soulful music and vocals compared to the legendary Amy Winehouse, you will want to catch WILSN at a venue this size while you still can. Supporting WILSN is Essex singer-songwriter Mabes and London-based singer-songwriter Alex White.
